| Watch 3D Movies In Your Living Room |

Denver, CO - CEDIA Expo - Sept 7, 2007 Today I had an experience that I thought only happens at places like Disney World. Watching a movie in 3D right in your own living room!
Texas Instruments, makers of the DLP video chip, was showing a combination of their video technology along with a Samsung DLP High Def TV, Samsung 3D technology software and glasses, and a modern computer in the booth. I stopped by to see if 3D for the home could be as good as Disney does with Muppets 3D at Disney World. I was BLOWN away!!!!!! I watch clips of Shrek, Star Wars, and other movies were in perfect high definition 3D. The experience of being inside the movie is stunning. It turns out that there are, indeed, some movies on DVD that offer a 3D version with many more coming out very soon. This is not Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. This is the everyday DVD that you rent or buy now. All you need is a package from Samsung, which includes 2 pairs of special glasses and software to run on a computer, that sells for about $200. I look forward to playing a little more with this in the next day or so and will talk more about it on the radio show next Wednesday night. Bottom line? This is one of the coolest things I have seen so far in the two days I have been here. |
